While Insight provides many options for editing and creating dashboards, browsing Insight is very simple. Using Insight is as simple as clicking on the dashboards and dashboard parts that display the information you are interested in. This section of the Insight guide is designed to familiarize you with the few viewing options, user options, and prompts you may encounter while using Insight.
Edit1 Logging On
When you first click on a link and load the Insight page you may be prompted for a user ID or contact information based on the logon options set by your Insight Administrator. If you are prompted for a user ID enter it and click
Log In. If enabled by your administrator, you can also check the
Auto Log In Next Time box to bypass the log in screen on subsequent visits.
If you are not prompted to enter a user ID, Insight is configured to log you on based on a shared user account and Insight will prompt you to enter your contact information. The contact information you enter will be saved to a browser cookie which Insight will use to remember you on subsequent visits.
Insight requires either an individual or shared user account to log in order to maintain security on the Insight dashboards and the information they contain. Insight prompts you for contact information if it is unknown because some dashboard reports may be configured to display information relative to your contact information.
Edit2 Browsing Dashboards
Once you have logged on Insight will open the Insight home page. The home page displays all of the dashboards you have permissions to view. To open a particular dashboard, click on it. As you navigate between dashboards you can always click on the Home button on the Insight toolbar to return to the Insight home page. Clicking refresh will reload the current dashboard or the home page.
Each dashboard is composed of a set of different web parts which display a variety of different kinds of reports. Based on how your dashboards have been designed, many of the reports will support drill down reports. Drills down reports allow you to click on a measure in a chart or a row in a table and have it populate a sub-report which contain more detailed information. For more information on the specific drill down reports supported by your Insight dashboards, contact your Insight administrator.
Edit3 Options
From the Options menu on the Insight menu bar you can select Change Password to change your password.
You can also choose to Clear Log In or Clear Contact information.
