1 How to Install

Insight is installed whenever you perform a complete installation of the Elsinore IssueNet suite. Insight can also be included or excluded as an installation option when performing a custom installation of the Elsinore IssueNet Suite. Insight is created as a web application on the server on which it is installed. Therefore, IIS (Internet Information Services) 5.0 or greater is required for installation. Once you have installed Insight you will want to connect Insight to the IssueNet database of your choice and activate your Insight licenses.

2 Using the IssueNet Assistant to Connect Insight to a Database

After Insight is installed you will want to connect Insight to the IssueNet database of your choice. To connect Insight to a database, launch the IssueNet Assistant from the Elsinore program group, select the option to Configure an Existing IssueNet Installation and follow the prompts to bind Insight to an IssueNet connection.

3 Licensing

Your Elsinore representative will supply you with a license key for Insight. Until you activate your license key you will only be able to logon to Insight as the Administrator user. To activate your licenses logon to the IssueNet Administrator, Select Tools | Licensing from the menu bar, click Add and follow the prompts.

Once you have connected Insight to a database and activated your license key you are ready to begin evaluating sample dashboards and creating your own. Before you begin modifying or creating dashboards, it is highly recommended that you read the following sections on IssueNet Basic Concepts. The basic concepts sections will provide you with overview of how Insight dashboards are organized, dashboard web parts, basic navigation, and user privileges.
