1 What are SCCS Databases?

The SCCS Databases feature allows administrators to create links to multiple Source Code Control System Databases so that users can link source code with Software tasks. Once an SCCS database has been configured, IssueNet users who also possess SCCS credentials will be able to associate source code files via the SCCS tab of the software task.

2 Creating and Editing SCCS Databases

  1. Select File|New|SCCS Database OR right-click SCCS Databases in the Data Source Explorer and select New OR click the New SCCS Database button.
  2. Enter the following information:
    • Name: This can be any descriptive name that would differentiate the new SCCS database from another database.
    • Location: This can be a manually entered UNC path to the database's configuration file (for example: \\MyVSS_Server\VSSStore\db1\scrsafe.ini). If a client installation of Visual SourceSafe exists, clicking the Browse button will display a list of any preconfigured VSS database connection strings. Selecting one of these preconfigured connections from the list will set the SCCS Database Location appropriately.
    • Provider Type: Select the SCCS provider that is utilized by your organization.
  3. (Optional) Enter a Description of the SCCS Database
  4. (Optional) Click the Test button and enter SCCS User credentials to test the connection to the newly configured SCCS database connection.
  5. Click the Update button or select Actions|Update
