Edit1 The Insight Home Page

If you logon to Insight as a user without modify privileges Insight displays a simple toolbar which provides a
Home button which will return the user to the Insight homepage and a refresh button for refreshing the homepage or the current dashboard view.

If you logon as a member of the Administrator group you will have privileges to modify the Insight homepage. Accordingly the toolbar will include a Modify button. Clicking on the Modify button will load the Insight homepage in Modify mode and the toolbar will display additional buttons for the different modify options for the homepage.

These options are:
- Design– Loads the home page in a mode in which dashboard can be positioned on the home page
- Edit– Clicking the edit button and clicking a dashboard opens a dialog for editing privileges to the dashboard and its appearance on the Insight home page
- Add– Opens a form for adding a new dashboard
- Remove– Clicking the Remove button and clicking a dashboard will remove the dashboard from Insight.
- Clone– Clicking the Clone button and clicking a dashboard will create a copy of that dashboard and add it to the home page
- Connect– Opens a form for adding visual connectors between dashboards.
Edit2 Dashboard Pages
To view or modify individual dashboards open the dashboard by clicking on it from the Insight home page. The Insight homepage must be in View mode to open a dashboard. If you have the Insight home page loaded in Modify mode first click on the dashboard. Like the Insight home page, a dashboard page provides users with read only access with a simple tool bar for refreshing the current view and returning to the Insight home page.

Users with modify privileges are provided with a toolbar which has additional button for entering modes for modifying Shared Scope or User Scope based on their privileges to the dashboard.

Clicking on Modify Shared Scope or Modify User Scope loads additional toolbar options for modifying the current dashboard.
These options are:
- Design– Loads the dashboard in a mode in which web parts can be dragged into position
- Edit– Clicking Edit button enables the Edit item on the web part menu which allows you to edit the properties of that part
- Catalog– Opens the web part catalog for adding new web parts to the dashboard
- Connect– Clicking connect button enables the Connect item on the web part menu which allows you to connect the web part to another web part on the dashboard
- Reset– Removes all customizations to the dashboard and dashboard web parts for the current scope. Resetting a dashboard while in User Scope will reset the dashboard to the setting defined by the Shared Scope. Resetting a dashboard while in Shared Scope will remove all web parts and web part settings. Do not reset a dashboard while in Shared Scope unless you want reset the dashboard to an empty state.

The web part menu allows you to select options for the current web part based on the selection of design, edit, or catalog mode on the toolbar. For example, to edit a web part select
Edit on the toolbar to enter edit mode, and then select
Edit in the web part menu for the part you wish to edit
